Florida Virtual School

Families of Faith Christian Academy International has a matriculation agreement with the Florida Virtual School that allows students to take classes from the web-based public school system. Parents should be aware that the teachers and course material are provided by the state; therefore, the choice of curriculum content is waived. The Virtual School does give students the opportunity to take courses with no cost for materials, or paying a tutor. There is some flexibility in the student's day-to-day schedule; it's not 8:00-3:00 like a conventional classroom. But, there are course deadlines the student must meet to earn credit. If a student is enrolled in a course, the grade, whether good or bad, will become a part of that student's permanent record unless he or she withdraws from the classes before the withdrawal date deadline.

Courses that will not be approved:

Because of the change in the scientific method taught in the textbooks used by the Florida Virtual School, Families of Faith Christian Academy International will not approve course requests for science courses through FLVS..

In addition, most history and social studies courses will not be approved because a revision of history, is not history. A social indoctrination based on the philosophy of socialists and humanists is not balanced with a true understanding of history or thought.
