Virtual Program Details
Most students and families in Florida are familiar with the Florida Virtual School (FLVS), which offers both a full-time option where a student is enrolled with Florida Virtual School as an option to being enrolled in a traditional classroom based public school. The FLVS also offers students the opportunity to be a "Flex" student, taking one class at a time, while enrolled in another public school, registered with the county as a homeschooler, or even a private school. The FOFCAI virtual program offers all of those options as well, but with a curriculum that provides a high level academic experience with a bibilical world view foundation. The FOFCAI Virtural Program uses a customized learning lab structure, instead of the age segrated system where every student in the same "grade" is grouped and progresses at the same pace regardless of learning gaps or previous mastery they may have in the subject scheduled for that time slot. Students are evaluated individually and placed in the appropate level course, with multiple pull outs for traditional instruction when appropriate.
The core of the system is the Ignitia curriculum from Alpha Omega. The platform is a web-based, blended learning, collaborative, interactive curriculum that provides cutting edge instruction.
Individulized Instruction: Students who have gaps in core concepts can be assigned just those uints or assignments needed to fill the gaps, without having to repeat an entire year in a textbook that covers every topic, when they only need to master a portion of the topics covered in the course of the school year.
Dynamic Lessons: Ignitia lessons include more than 50,000 multimedia elements like interactive games, audio and video clips, external web links, and off-computer assignments. In addition, time-saving tools for teachers include automatic grading and lesson planning, a convenient internal messaging system, and real-time reporting tools. This allows the classroom teacher to spend less time grading and more time working individually with each student in the classroom.
Intuitive Design: The student experience features easy-to-use navigation, handy notes tools, inventive day-planning functions, and enhanced flexibility to suit any student’s learning style. Meanwhile, teachers have access to concrete data that allows them to easily monitor student progress.
Student Resources
Writer: A powerful learning tool, Ignitia Writer encourages practice and revision by providing students with individualized feedback during the essay-writing process to improve composition, spelling, and grammar. It also saves teachers valuable grading time as they review student work.
Blended Learning Library: A collection of more than 250 direct instruction videos helps students gain a conceptual understanding of key math skills. The videos offer step-by-step guidance applicable in a group or individual setting, as well as blended learning environments and flipped classrooms.
Virtual Labs: Virtual labs introduce students to an interactive environment where they are in charge of solving problems and exploring a whole new world of science, technology, engineering, and math.
Text-to-Speech: This user-friendly application allows students to hear selected passages or entire lessons to promote greater understanding by simply highlighting the text within the lesson.

The guidance office is able to customize instruction to ensure that each student achieves academically based upon their individual learning styles, levels and abilities. Utilizing this intuitive, interactive cutting edge curriculum, our students are provided with just the right amount of rigor to help them excel at higher academic levels than they would in a conventional classroom setting.
Parents assume the role of primary facilitator, ensuring that students maintain a proper level of engagement to complete daily assignments and provide feedback and review as needed, and working in conjunction with the FOFCAI staff teacher, who grades the Formative and Summative Assessments provided in the curriculum. Parents are able to monitor assignments in real-time and see how well their child is performing with the Parent Portal. FOFCAI is partnering with the parents, so it is vital that we are sharing a student's progress (or lack of progress) in real time with parents.
Pull-Out Classes / Blended Options
All students in the Virtual Program have the option of being a part of the Blended/Hybrid class offerings and college Dual Enrollment courses. Refer to the Blended page for details of current courses available for the 2019-2020 school term.
Tuition/Fees
The base tuition for the Full-Time Virtual Program (which includes the seat license for the on-line curriculum) for ten months has two fees:
Family Registration Fee: $125
Base Student Tuition (Annual): $600
Ignitia Virtual Curriculum: $350
Families may combine the Full-Time Virtual program with another component, such as a live Algebra class under the Blended/Hybrid Component system, which would incur additional costs for the program and required textbooks.
For specific guidance or questions, you can contact the guidance office by email or phone. To find out more about the enrollment process and fees go to the "Getting Started" tab.
