English-High School I/II: FOFCAI Blended Classroom Course
Classes Meet Monday and Thursday
12:00 to 1:40 at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church - Lakeland
In this course, students will tackle longer writing assignments, such as descriptive, narrative, persuasive, and biographical essays. We will also explore poetry and the short story.
Students will be evaluated and given feedback on content, organization, wording, and fluency of their writing. Presentation skills will be practiced, and works will be shared in class regularly. This class will have a literature component as well. We will periodically introduce vocabulary and review grammar; however, students are expected to have a foundation in grammar and sentence structure upon entering this class. For those who need a more grammar-focused English course, we recommend Intermediate English.
Recommended for ages 12 and up who have a solid foundation in grammar and writing, or who have successfully completed Intermediate English with us.
Class will have approximately 3 hours of homework per week.
